Michelangelo Italian Doctorate The Italian “Research Doctorate”  is the formal equivalent of a PhD  was established in Italy in 1980  represents the third academic qualification after Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree  is the highest academic degree

Italian Doctorate Structure and Features  half of available PhD positions are covered by state grants  PhD Programs are from three to five years in length  during this period, students study in depth the research field of the PhD Program, develop research capabilities and carry out a personal research project  according to the Statistic Office of Education, University and Research Ministry, in 2006 in Italy about doctoral students were admitted at PhD courses
