5. University of Tirana implemented the Bologna Process in 2005. Offers around 60 Bachelor degrees. The duration of Bachelor Degrees is generally 3 years. Master degree programmes. ( Professional and Science). The duration of a Master degree is 1 or 2 years. The “Doctorate” is given after completing the Master.Duration of PhD is 3-5 years. 6. University of Tirana has institutional cooperation with many Universities around the World. There are over 30 agreements with European Universities. 7. Structural organization The structural organization of the University of Tirana with eight faculties creates a close network of vertical cooperation between the rector and the Dean’s office. The rector has the decision making power of deciding the general lines of the University’s development, of appointing the academic and the administrative staff. The University budget The budget of the university is administrated from the administrative Council. 65 per cent comes from the government for the salary and social insurance, the other part comes from the fee of the students and the other services of the faculty. 10. Student recruitment The recruitment of the first course of the bachelor degree is organized according to the students results of State Matura. The faculty selects the students for Master’s and Doctorate Programmes. 35 000 students (full time and part time) continue their studies in the University of Tirana.
