1 Magnet Program A “school within a school” Magnet Program to include commitment to the planning and implementation that would enhance the learning of math, science and technology to students in grades 3-12.

2 The Magnet program’s potential impact on students and on the community may include Offering an educational option to parents – create a program so appealing – magnetic – that it will draw a diverse range of families throughout the community eager to enroll children even if it means having them attend a school in a distant neighborhood. Magnet Program’s have provided a useful tool / approach in keeping families in their school of origin. Improve teaching and learning for all – Magnet programs promote a healthy competition among their home schools. Quality programs based on student needs and interest – Programs are designed around student interest and engage students in the learning process, leading to high achievement. Because students disengage from learning before they drop out of school, providing focused programs that will keep them engaged in learning will keep them in school. Community members and programmatic partners involved in the delivery of instruction – real life connections for students and their parents – Create a laboratory school model –can serve as a laboratory of successful educational practices and serve as a model to all the other schools.
