Giant Panda By: Bryce Petroff

Diet There are few items that the Panda consumes. Some of the items are mostly bamboo. They also eat grass, sugar cane, rice gruel, high fiber biscuit, carrots, apples, and sweet potato. They may rarely eat small rodents or musk deer.

Threat The threat to the giant pandas are that they are hunted for their claws . They are hunted and killed for their claws that they use for climbing. They also use their massive wrist bone as an opposable thumb. This makes it possible for them to grab food and keep a hold of items.

Habitat The panda live in broad leaf and coniferous forests with a dense understory of bamboo, with the elevations between 5,000 and 10,000 feet. They could live in forests but they are normally shrouded in heavy clouds. Torrential rains or dense mist characterize the forests. The pandas normally live in Central China, Sichuan, Shaanxi, Gansu provinces.

reproduction Pandas reach breeding age by four and eight years. They breed until age 20. they only ovulate once a year and its normally in the spring. They give birth between 95 and 160 days after mating. Cubs stay with their mom only 3 to 4 years. They give live birth.

IUCN IUCN stands for International Union for the Conservation of Nature. Right now the IUCN is keeping pandas in a sanctuary for the protection from hunters. Pandas are hunted for their claws. The IUCN helps endangered animals from becoming extinct. According to the IUCN red list the Giant Pandas are currently listed as an endangered species.

Help I could help by starting an organization for the raising of money for the help of the pandas. My friends could help sell useless items that do no good keeping and donating the money to a helpful organization.
