Our Discussion Today

What is E-learning?  E-learning is a computer based educational tool or system that enables you to learn anywhere and at any time  E-learning concept strongly correlated to the use of computer and internet.  Other terms correlated to e-learning are : o Distance learning o Computer based training o Web based training

Distanced learning Distance learning is less expensive to support and is not constrained by geographic considerations,it offers opportunities in situations where traditional education has difficulty operating, because distance learning can be more flexible in terms of time and can be delivered virtually anywhere.

 Popular distance learning technologies include :  Voice centered technology  Video technology  Computer centered technology  Computer based training Computer based training (CBT) use of computers in imparting training monitoring trainee progress, providing, feedback and assessing final results. A CBT course sometimes called courseware may be delivered via a software product installed on a single computer.  Popular distance learning technologies include :  Voice centered technology  Video technology  Computer centered technology  Computer based training Computer based training (CBT) use of computers in imparting training monitoring trainee progress, providing, feedback and assessing final results.  Web based training  Web based Training (WBT) is any where, any time instruction delivered over the internet or corporate intranet to browser equipped learners.  Web based training  Web based Training (WBT) is any where, any time instruction delivered over the internet or corporate intranet to browser equipped learners.

E- Learning Purpose

E-learning as a Medium The use of a technology is influenced by institution, education program, and management. E-learning could be delivered through several technologies such as , mailing list, asynchronous conferencing, podcast, on-line video, collaborative video, synchronous conferencing, blog, wikis, social networking, social bookmarking, slide show, virtual world, really simple syndication, micro- blogging, and interactive white board. E-learning as a Medium The use of such a technology is influenced by institution, education program and management. There are several elements in delivering e- learning : Redundancy Personal

Viewed from the method conventional learning may be delivered through discussion, comments, cross talk and cooperation which emphasize on mostly verbal aspect. E-learning approaches may be delivered in the following ways:

The benefits of e-learning which are suggested by many experts and practitioners are summarised as follows :

1.ICT becomes more familiar for both teacher and students 2.Hardware and software which is getting more modern and affordable 3.Telecommunication and broadband enable big capacity of data being transferred 4.Government has committed to support ICT-based learning

 E-learning is expected to improve education in Indonesia as well as science and technology literacy.  science and technology are strongly correlated and complementary therefore e-learning combines science and technology to education for manifesting success in today's globalization war.  immediately adjust the education with the development of technology and science.  We all need to collaborate in implementing e – learning so that best result and benefit will be achieved successfully.
