In synchronous learning, all participants are present at the same time. It requires a timetable to be organized. Examples of synchronous technology are Web conferencing, videoconferencing, audio conferencing and etc. In asynchronous learning, participants are not required to be together at the same time. Examples of asynchronous learning technology are e-mail, video and audio recordings, print materials, voicemail, fax and etc.
