NERVOUS SYSTEM CHELSEA SAMS AND RILEY ROTH

FUNCTION OF THE NERVOUS SYSTEM The nervous system is the command center for the body. Collect information from body and from outside environment. Interprets information and gives orders to the rest of the body, making it respond.

MAIN PARTS 1 Brain  The brain collects information and interprets it. It then gives orders for the body to follow based on the information it was given. Spinal Cord  The main area where information travels to and from the brain. The super highway of the nervous system. Nerves  The small parts in the body that collect information and carry out brain functions.

MAIN PARTS 2 Brain Stem  Handles the information given from the different parts of the brain and interprets it into smooth orders. Ear  Attains auditory information and sends it to the brain. Eye  Attains visual information and sends it to the brain.

MAIN PARTS 3 Olfactory Cells  The cells in the nose that collect scents and give the information to the brain. Taste Buds  The part inside of the mouth that collects tastes and sends the information to the brain.
