COMPUTURISED TIR/TRANSIT CONTROL SYSTEM

Turkish Customs, starting 1998, finalised automation of customs offices at the end of As of today % 99 of all customs transactions is under automation. Along with automatin, all the customs offices connected each other and headquarter via WAN (Wide Area Network). Customs transactions are realised by using BILGE, a customs software used by Turkish Customs. COMPUTER INFRASTRUCTURE

SIMPLIFICATION OF PROCEDURES (Future Consideration) Turkish Customs, using computer infrustructure, aims to introduce simplification procedures for also TIR implementations. First intended area of simplification For certified firms and carriers, after entering to Turkey, instead of going to the destination customs office, TIR lorry will go directly to the premises of the consignee.
