Earth’s Weather and Climate Answer the main ideas

Bell work Question Earth’s atmosphere has five layers: troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, and exosphere.

Question 1 Greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide help keep in the sun’s heat, but human activities are increasing these gases, which could lead to global warming, and other problems.

Question 2 Solar radiation fuels our planet’s weather, which is affected by the interaction of temperature, air pressure, and the movement of air by convection currents.

Question 3 Weather is the specific condition of the atmosphere at a particular place and time.

Question 4 Climate refers to average yearly weather patterns.

Question 5 The five climate zones are polar, dry, tropical, subtropical, and continental.

Question 6 Air masses take on the characteristics of the region where they form, and they play an important role in determining what the weather will be like.

Reflection The most important thing I learned about weather and climate from the video is _____________ because _____________
