Can be compared to a very thin blanket, surrounding our planet Made up of billions of gas particles These include nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, and water vapor

3 Air Pressure All the particles of air pressing down are called “air pressure”. This pressure changes as you move up or down in the atmosphere. Higher up-lower pressure

4 Layers of Atmosphere Troposphere-where we live and where most weather happens Stratosphere-contains most of the ozone that protects us from the sun’s rays Mesosphere-coldest layer Thermosphere-hot outer layer
