FARR – WHAT IS IT FARR is a web application linked to a database capturing quantitative data in a questionnaire format relating to programmes and courses to support the Funding Allocations Request: Inputs - estimated number of: Learners already enrolled/started as @ 1st January and learners commencing during 2015. Outputs - estimated number of: Course completers (complete; a full or partial course) Early leavers (that leave the course prematurely) Course completers certification – Major, Component or other certification. Outcomes - estimated number of: Course completers progression and employment outcomes. Stakeholder Engagement and Operational Planning Unit

FARR Open/Edit Periods Open/edit periods i.e. the system is open for data entry and editing – 4 periods Planning period Reporting for January to May period (June) Reporting for June to September period (October) Reporting for October to December period (January 2016) Stakeholder Engagement and Operational Planning Unit

Data in the System In FARR All PLC Colleges approved 2014-2015 (AY) are listed as Providers /Centres in the System (circa 170) All PLC courses approved for 2014-2015 are assigned to each Provider (course title) All PLC courses approved for 2014-2015 academic year are listed as a generic list (circa 1,000) Generic Course Lists for: BTEI, VTOS Core, Adult Literacy Groups, FET Cooperation Hours, Community Education & Voluntary Literacy Tuition Course Lists for Training Programmes (except Community Training Centres) List of QQI Targeted Awards (circa 150) List of Non-QQI Awards (circa 750) Location/centre Accounts for each ETB Career Cluster List Stakeholder Engagement and Operational Planning Unit

Using the System Course details; the system allows for auto population of course titles from existing lists. Course titles not on existing lists can be added by keying in the data. Award details can be added using the auto population feature from existing lists. Award details not on existing lists can be added through the Add Award function.. Stakeholder Engagement and Operational Planning Unit

Using the System Search facility in the system includes: For courses within a programme For awards already in the system and awards added by the user. Data entered (except course title) can be edited by the system users. The system generates a range of reports that can be viewed in PDF, exported as a CSV file or Excel file. SOLAS manages the open/edit periods. Stakeholder Engagement and Operational Planning Unit

FARR: Reporting Tool FARR – captures quantitative data to support the ‘Funding Allocations Request’ (estimated data) FARR – functionality also includes a reporting feature for actual data. Three reporting periods for each calendar/fiscal year: FARR facilitates the submission of reporting data on the same basis it was submitted as part the ‘Funding Allocations Request’ FARR reporting feature will be opened at specific periods to entry/editing of report data. Reporting Period January to May June to September October to December Report submitted June October January Stakeholder Engagement and Operational Planning Unit
