Discussion Hopefully you “love what you do”, but graduate school is also a means to an end (a more advanced degree and career, etc.) that takes planning and intention. Consider: “As a graduate student, your fate is in your own hands, and every decision you make—including whether to go to graduate school at all, which program to go to, which adviser to choose, and how to conduct yourself while there— can and should be made with an eye to the job you wish to have at the end.” (Kelsky, 2012) What professional concerns do you have as you begin your graduate school journey?
