Access to the Cube Views The path to the Workspace Advanced cubes: Public Folders > Workspace Advanced Cubes > Curriculum Analysis Cube Views or Student Summary Cube Views Click the Workspace Advanced Icon located to the right of the Cube Title Workspace Advanced Report Studio View Workspace Advanced View

Opening a Cube View Following the cube view path, click on the Workspace Advanced Icon located to the right of the cube view title “Open with Cognos Workspace Advanced” A new window will open and a pop up asking if you want to allow access – click the icon saying “Allow access”

Exit a Cube View To exit from a cube view, click on the “File” icon (blue circle with white arrow) located in the upper left corner of the cube view. A drop down selection appears Click on the “Exit” tab located at the very bottom of the drop down box. Caution! Be careful not to click on the “Log Off” as that will log you off of the Workspace Advanced software altogether, exiting you from the system.

Run As with Powerplay, Workspace Advanced offers you the option to run your cube views in a variety of ways At the top of the page locate “Run” and click, a drop down selection box is displayed Click on the type of run you would like to produce (e.g.-.pdf format, Excel 2007, etc.)

Save As To save a cube view you have created, click on the “File” icon (blue circle with white arrow) located in the upper left corner of the cube view. A drop down selection appears Click on the “Save As” tab located at the very bottom of the drop down box.

Undo To undo an action or edit to a cube view use the blue “Undo” arrow located in the top icons bar. Click the left facing arrow. To redo an action or edit to a cube view use the blue “Redo” arrow located in the top icons bar. Click the right facing arrow.

Collapse Source Pane The “Source” pane contains your Source window, Toolbox window, Properties window and Workspace Advanced data view icons. To minimize this window, thus allowing for more space in viewing your cube view, click on the “minimize” bar located in the left window margin. The thin bar is gold/orange in color with a left facing white arrow.
