The Future of Flight Available aviation fuel production has probably peaked Demand for aviation fuel is predicted to rise –Passenger flights at ~5% per annum –Freight flights at ~6% per annum –Military use – who knows?

Are Conferences Sustainable? How much longer will long haul flights fit our (academic) budget? Our climate-conscience?

What Might We Do? Plan now! Move towards virtual conferences Use on-line videos of talks, provide slides, set up Wikis for each paper to allow Q&A –Lots of beneficial side-effects, but logistically non-trivial Accept papers without requiring authors to attend to present them
