AFROTC Language Programs High School Scholarship Program FY08 –High school seniors (meet central board) –57 Foreign Language (FL) scholarships awarded –Scholarships activate each fall –All non-tech majors must take at least 12sh of FL In-college Scholarship Program FY08 –Eligible full-time college students –18 FL express scholarships awarded (77 total) –Awarded/activated throughout the academic year

FL Program Incentives Foreign Language Express Scholarship Program –Immediate activation, no central board –Includes some area studies majors Study Abroad (AFROTC’s approval required) –Limited to one term –Scholarship and Stipend continues (if on scholarship) –NO funds for travel / room & board FY09 National Defense Authorization Act –Foreign Language Incentive Pay –Cadets successfully completing FL course can receive up to $3,000 annually
