1 Task 1 : Reading 1. Discuss in a group : What are the two main aims in asking questions ( which follow ) on text ? 2. Table completion activity : What are the main purposes of “completing the table” ?

2 Task 1 3. After the demonstrations, compare the two ways of reading a text : Which technique : Makes it easier to understand the text ? Is more helpful in developing reading ability ? Trainers give their own views and to say how they felt as “learners” during the activity. Points to compare and discuss : i.Understanding the text ii.Developing reading ability iii.Control of the class

3 What is a “must” for every student taking this course: 1. Read all the references : books, photo copy articles, articles from internet ( URL addresses are mentioned in the CO ) which relate to the topic of the coming session. Hence, Ss are ready for the discussion in the class before attending the session. 2. Ss should be ready for presenting a topic of the session to be discussed with the class, without prior notice. 3. Quizes will be given occasionally. The schedule is subject to change without prior notice. 4. Assignments to be collected on time / schedule.
