Computing is an ideal subject for those who are keen to study a broad range of computing ideas and develop innovative solutions to problems, or improvements to current situations.

We offer courses in the following subject areas/awards: MSc Computing MEng/MSc Computing (Computer Networks Engineering) MEng Computing (Computer Systems Engineering) MSc Computing (Internet Technology & Security) MSc Computing (Software Engineering) MSc Computing (Immersive Technologies) Undergraduate Postgraduate BSc/HND/HNC Computing BEng/HND Computing (Computer Networks Engineering) BEng/HND Computing (Computer Systems Engineering) BSc/HND Computing (Graphics & Visualisation) BSc/HND Computing (Web Technology & Security) BSc/HND Computing (Mobile Computing) BSc/HND Computing (Software Engineering) BSc/HND Computer Games Development BSc/HND Business Computing (Systems) BSc/HND Business Computing (Web Design)

The courses are flexible so that the opportunities exist to change pathways during the first year of the course. The SEVEN applicable pathways for Computing are: Flexibility Opportunity to specialize Computing, Computer Networks Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Graphics & Visualisation, Web Technology & Security, Mobile Computing, Software Engineering Business Computing has two pathways so you can move between Systems Web Design during the first year. You would need to decide on Computer Games & Development from the outset. Applicants should indicate the pathway they wish to pursue. Part time study at any stage is also an option.

BSc & BEng Computing and BSc Business Computing courses are three years and the HND courses two years full-time. Completion of the HND will enable transfer* to the BSc or BEng. They are integrated and wide ranging courses in which it is possible to specialize in topics such as computer hardware, computer software, computer networks, business computing and the Internet. The common first years introduce varied aspects of computing, and lay the foundations for whichever specialist pathway is pursued in the second and/or third years. Which course? BSc (Hons), BEng (Hons) or HND The first year of the course explores the design and operation of computer systems, both hardware and software and covers programming and problem solving, databases, network technology, systems specification, computer systems, web and information technology. * Degree classification will be based on the final year for HND transfers, whereas classification normally based on year 2 and 3 grades.
