How Pregnancy Happens Review – Ejaculate gets in her vagina or on her vulva – Unprotected vaginal intercourse – Can take up to six days for sperm to fertilize an egg – Then up to 10 days for the fertilized egg to implant itself into the lining of the uterus

Options If you get pregnant, you can – Raise the child – Adoption – Abortion

Having the Child: Pros Loving a child Being loved in return Watching your child grow and develop Become more responsible – A parent who holds his or her baby for the first time sometimes realizes that this small being is completely dependent Some teens may really enjoy this responsibility and thrive in their role as a parent.

Having the Child: Cons You are no longer a “typical teenager” It’s not all about you anymore New financial responsibilities Your relationships with others change – Partner – Parents – Siblings – Friends

Adoption Adoption agency or an adoption attorney. – Choose and agency or attorney that is licensed in Kentucky and has handled infant adoptions. With the Safe Haven law passage, mother's can also take babies to a fire station, police station or EMS within 72 hours of the birth.
