Course Structure Phase 1: Enrolment and introduction to course tutors and fellow students (September) Phase 2: Introduction September – November: Mondays: Professional Studies Tuesdays and Wednesdays: Pathway/Subject groups Thursdays and Fridays: Placement school November – December: 5 weeks Practical Teaching 1 Aspects of subject knowledge, themes and processes, are integrated throughout the week

Course structure Phase 3: Development January - February Five weeks in faculty and placement schools as in phase 2 Phase 4: Qualification February - May Practical Teaching 2 – Thirteen weeks block practice in second placement school Phase 5: Enhancement and reflection Three weeks block practice in second placement school, followed by 2 days faculty review

Assessment Professional Development Profile (PDP) Subject Knowledge Profile (SKP) Practical Teaching 1 and 2 programmes Continuous self-set review, targets and action Career Entry Development Profile (CEDP) Trainees are assessed against the TDA Professional standards for teaching at KS3 and KS4 The Leavers Report refers to the curriculum (at least one placement will be in an school) QTS tests in Numeracy, Literacy and ICT
