Minimum Requirements Good Academic Record (2.1 minimum) GCSE grade C or equivalent – Maths, English and Science Capability to meet Standards for QTS including subject knowledge Fitness to teach and CRB cleared Read effectively and communicate clearly and accurately in spoken and written Standard English PLUS – we do not consider anyone who has not had significant experience in school

Course Structure Phase 1: Enrolment and introduction to course tutors and fellow students (September) Phase 2: Introduction September – November: Mondays: Professional Studies Tuesdays and Wednesdays: Pathway/Subject groups Thursdays and Fridays: Placement school November – December: 5 weeks Practical Teaching 1 Aspects of subject knowledge, themes and processes, are integrated throughout the week

Course structure Phase 3: Development January - February Five weeks in faculty and placement schools as in phase 2 Phase 4: Qualification February - May Practical Teaching 2 – Thirteen weeks block practice in second placement school Phase 5: Enhancement and reflection Three weeks block practice in second placement school, followed by 2 days faculty review
