Japanese Civilization Early Times to 1600

Japanese Civilization Insular nature Cultural Borrowing Japanese culture and civilization is built on a stone aged foundation, but was significantly altered by the Yayoi Immigration around 300 B. C. E. which displaced the Jomon Culture Yayoi brought agriculture, bronze age metallurgy, and a new spoken language.

Chinese Influences on Japan Yayoi culture slowly modified by Chinese influences. Yamato Kings rule over state that is arranged into Uji, or clans. Military class emerges (Nobility). Taika Reform Edicts 645 A. D. Chinese written language introduced and modified to fit spoken Japanese.

Cultural Values Shinto Warrior class—Code of Bushido Simplicity and harmony Buddhism
