Mitosis is a process that takes place in the nucleus of a dividing cell and that results in the formation of two new nuclei with the same number of chromosomes as the parent nucleus

The phases are prophase, prometaphase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase.

The chromosomes become condensed and key proteins begin to bind the kinetochores, preparing for spindle attachment.

The mitotic spindle is formed and the chromosomes attach to microtubules in the spindle via their kinetochores.

All of the chromosomes are attached to microtubules via their kinetochores, and aligned at the metaphase plate.

The sister chromatics separate and are moved toward the poles of the spindle. The chromosomal separation and movement toward the poles is called Anaphase A. The spindle poles separate as well, which is anaphase B. Midzone complex formation also occurs in the anaphase.

The mother cell is physically divided into two daughter cells by cytokinesis.

It occurs everywhere in your body, except sex cells.

the process by which the number of chromosomes in a cell that produces sex cells is reduced to one half

Meiosis only occurs in the process of gametogenesis, it is when the sex cell is being formed. In fertilization, meiosis is needed to prevent the doubling of the chromosome number in each successive generation. The phases are interphase, prophase I, metaphase I, anaphase I, telophase I, prophase II, metaphase II, anaphase II, and telophase II.

Prophase is the phase in which the cell is not reproducing.

in metaphase 1 the nuclear membrane disappears and the chromosomes line up along the inside of the cell

Anaphase 1 two chromosomes go to each side of the cell and the cell starts to split.

Meiosis occurs in the ovary and testis

Yes, there is a difference between the two. There is more phases on meiosis than mitosis.
