You can insert graphics onto your page by clicking on the Picture Frame Tool icon and then drawing a frame for your graphic. Double click in the frame you drew and a dialog box will appear that will let you select the graphic file you wish to display. If you wish to insert clipart, click on the Clipart icon and draw a frame for your clipart. If you place a graphic over text, you can select theText Wrap to Picture option to have the text wrap around your graphic. You may wish to experiment putting the graphic in front of and behind the textbox. You can also select a border size and color for the graphic image.

You can click on the Edit Irregular Wrap icon and change the shape of your graphic image. After you have clicked on the icon, you need to move the border around to change the shape. You can also flip and rotate your graphic image.

Tables can be created by clicking on the Table Frame Tool icon and drawing a outer shape of the table. Once you draw the table, you will be given options for the number of rows and columns you wish. You can add creative borders to your table by clicking on Format  Line/Border Styles  More Styles  Border Art.

Any object can be deleted by right clicking on the object and selecting Delete.

A text area can be drawn by clicking on the Text Frame Tool icon and drawing the text area. After the text box is drawn, you can select a variety of options from Format  Text Frame Properties. One of the common options you can set is the number of columns. You can also set some options so that text automatically displays “continued to” and “continued from” messages.

You can connect the text in one textbox with the text in another text box. Click in the first textbox, click on the Connect Text Frames icon, and then click in the second textbox.

To create a drop cap, highlight the first letter in a textbox. Select Format  Drop Cap… and select one of the styles.

Draw a unique shape by clicking on the Custom Shapes icon and then drawing the shape. Format the shapes by applying a shadow and fill color.

You can provide a variety of fill effects for the shapes that you create. After you have created a shape, click on it and select Format  Fill Color  Fill Effects… Select a Gradient shading effect. Change the Color 2 to a color other than white.

Click on the Wordart icon and draw an area where you wish to place your wordart. After typing in your text, change the shape and font. Select Format  Shading and change the color.

Create a textbox with a border. Create a textbox with a yellow background. Create a textbox with three columns. Link the text from one textbox to another textbox on the same page. Link the text from one textbox to another textbox on a different page with automatic “continued from” and “continued to” messages. Create a textbox and insert text into the box from a text file that was created with Notepad. Create a drop cap. Create a clipart box and insert a clipart. Create a picture frame and insert a graphic file. Put a border around a graphic file. Place several graphic files on top of each other and move images from front to back. Make text wrap around a graphic image. Create an irregular shaped graphic image. Use the crop tool to crop a graphic image. Resize a graphic image. Create a unique shape such as a star or heart. Apply a shadow and fill color to a unique shape. Create and customize Wordart images. Create a variety of shapes and practice bringing them forward and moving them back. Create a shape and put a textbox with text on top of it. Apply pattern and gradient shading effects to a shape you created.
