4 Set for double spacing Back to Word 1. Click on “Format”. 2.Click on “Paragraph”. 3.In the dialog box, in the spacing section, click on the drop-down arrow under Line Spacing. 4.Click on “double”. 5.Click on “OK”. Or 1.Click on the drop-down arrow next to the “Line Space” button located on the Formatting Toolbar. 2.Click on “2” for double.

5 Set for landscape/portrait Back to Word 1.Click on “File”. 2.Click on “Page Set Up”. 3.Under the Margins tab, in the orientation section, click on “Landscape/Portrait”.

6 Change margin settings Back to Word 1.Click on “File”. 2.Click on “Page Setup”. 3.In the dialog box, under the margins tab, and in the margins section, highlight the numbers beside the Top and make your change. Do the same for the Bottom, Left and Right. 4.Click “OK”.

7 Layer pictures (text wrap) Several ways to do this 1.Insert or paste a picture in Word. 2.Right click on the picture, click on “Format Picture”. 3.In the dialog box, click on the Layout tab. 4.Choose either “tight” (to place words around the picture), “in front of” (to place words behind the picture), or “behind” (to place word in top of the picture. Or 1. Insert or paste a picture in Word. 2. Click on the “Text Wrapping” button on the Picture Toolbar. Then see Step 4 above. Or 1.Insert or paste a picture in Word. 2.Click on the “Text Wrapping” button under the “Draw” button located on the Drawing Toolbar. Then see step 4 from above. Back to Word

8 Adding missing toolbars Click to play video 1.Click on “View”. 2.Click on “Toolbars”. 3.Click on the missing Toolbar. Hint: If it has a check mark in front, the Toolbar is somewhere on your screen. It may have attached to another Toolbar. The three Toolbars that should always be on your screen at all times are: Standard, Formatting, and Drawing. Back to Word

9 Grouping objects The benefit of grouping objects together makes moving them easier and makes resizing them easier. Instead of moving/resizing 9 different objects, you group them together into one piece. Hold the shift key and click on each object you want to make as one. This selects every object. Let go of the shift key. Click on the “Draw” button on the Drawing Toolbar. Then click “Group”. Back to Word

10 Adding AutoShapes Click to play video The “AutoShape” buttons are all located on the Drawing Toolbar. You can choose “line”, “arrow”, “rectangle”, “oval”. Under the “AutoShapes” button, there are several more to choose from. Click on one. Hold done your left mouse button and draw the shape where you want it and how big you want it. Let go of the mouse button. You can use the “Fill Color” button located on the Drawing Toolbar to color in the shape. You can use the “Line Color” button also located on the Drawing Toolbar to color the outside line. You can use the “Line Style” and the “Dash Style” buttons to change the look of the outside line. You can also add shadow and 3-D to Word Art and AutoShapes.shadow and 3-D Back to Word

11 Changing AutoShapes  After drawing an AutoShape. Click on it to select it.  Click on the “Draw” button located on the Drawing Toolbar.  Click on “Change AutoShape”.  Choose a new shape by clicking on the one you want. Hint: If you had previously chosen a color, etc the new shape will also contain those characteristics. Back to Word

12 Add Shadow and 3-D to Word Art and AutoShapes  After adding Word Art or an AutoShapes, click on it to select it.  On the Drawing Toolbar click on the “Shadow” or the “3-D” button.  You can change the look of the shadow or the 3-D by click on any of the choices listed.  To change the color of the shadow or the 3-D. Click on the “Shadow” or the “3-D” button. Then click on “Shadow Settings” or “3-D Settings”. This opens up a small toolbar.  Click on the “Shadow Color” or the “3-D Color” button on that small toolbar. Then click on a color of your choosing. Back to Word

13 Adding and changing bullets  Click on the “Bullets” button located on the Formatting toolbar.  The bullet will be added onto the document.  Right click on the bullet. Click on “Bullets and Numbering”. You can choose any that are showing by a single click then click OK.  If you want to use a different picture. Click on the “Customize” button. Then click on the “Picture” button. If you have saved a picture into the “My Picture” folder, you can click on “Import”.  Find the picture in the “My Picture” folder. Click on it, then click “Add”.  Click “OK”. Back to Word

14 Adding a Page Border  Click on “Format”, then click on “Borders and Shading”.  In the dialog box, click on the Page Border Tab.  Either choose one under “Style” or one under “Art”. You can change the color and the weight on some of them.  Click on “OK”. Back to Word

15 Adding a Table  Click on “Table”, then “Insert”, then “Table”.  In the dialog box choose the number of columns and rows you want.  Click “OK” To change the border of a table:  On the Tables and Borders Toolbar, choose a “line style”, “line weight”, and “border color”.  In your table, click on all the lines you want to change. Back to Word

16 Changing Color Ink to Black Ink  1. Click on "File" then "Print"  2. In the dialog box click on the "Properties" button.  3. In the "Output Color" box choose black from the drop down box.  4. Click "OK" to close the dialog box  5. Click "OK" to print in black ink only. Back to Word
