American Airlines flight 2574 departing Miami at 6:45 PM Arriving Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta at 8:55 PM Please, check with chaperones after meeting family/ride before leaving the airport.

Passport Be sure to SIGN your passport. Check to be sure you have your passport before heading to the airport Remember to pre-arrange your absence for Friday, April 1.

Spending Money Euro is currently worth 1 € = $1.42 or $1 = 0.70 € We will arrive on Sunday. Banks will be closed. Money can be exchanged at ATM’s. They are readily available. Be sure to notify bank or credit card company of the places and dates of travel, including Morocco (April 6) You may want to exchange some money prior to the trip; however, the rates are higher. Money for lunch – snacks – beverages at meals (other than table water). Money for souvenirs Optional excursions during free time (additional museum entrances, bus/metro) EF suggests minimum: $40 per day standard: $60 per day

Our Group – Hotels – Rooming will receive hotel list with address & phone Tourist class hotels – Rooms & beds smaller Clean, few frills; Seldom have AC, TV, elevators Each room will have a private bathroom. Students are placed 3-4 per room This may vary by night & accommodations. May room with someone from another group. We will try to accommodate rooming preferences.

Packing Since you will be carrying your bags, PACK LIGHT. Pack all essential items in your carry on baggage. Pack a bag inside to pack with laundry to have room for souvenirs Hotels may/may not have elevators; the bus may not always be able to park in front of the hotel. Be aware of airline regulations regarding size/weight of bags and carry on luggage. You are responsible for overlimit fees. Also, check regulations regarding liquids in carry on baggage. –All carry-on liquids, gels must fit in a 1-quart plastic ziploc bag –No container larger than 3 ounces –Ziploc bag needs to be taken from your carry-on when going through security

Packing Small battery alarm clock (not cell phone) Backpack to carry during day. NO EF backpacks. Camera/batteries/film Converter and adapter plugs (if bringing electrical items) such as hair dryer (share), cell phone, camera & iPod charger Jacket / raincoat / windbreaker / umbrella 2 pair of comfortable (broken in) walking shoes Socks Jeans / pants Tshirts – long & short sleeved Flip flops (for shower/hotel ONLY) Shorts (1 pair) for beach only

Weather – next 8 days March 23-April 1 Madrid: (2 sunny/2 partly cloudy/ 3 days rain) Toledo: (2 sunny/ 2 partly cloudy/ 3 days rain) Granada: (2 sunny/ 2 partly cloudy/ 3 days rain Cordoba: (5 partly cloudy/1 day showers) Seville: (3 sunny / 2 scattered showers) Malaga: (5 partly cloudy / 3 showers) Costa del Sol Plan to wear clothing in layers. Mornings may be cool, afternoons warm and evenings cool. You may/may not be able to access luggage on bus or in hotel. Bus & plane temperatures may vary.

Meals Breakfast and dinner are provided daily. Breakfast – (in hotel) typical: bread or rolls, jam, juice, hot chocolate, coffee/tea, cereal Lunch is on your own. Dinner – beverages other than water are not included. Bring a water bottle – you can fill it at the hotel Soft drinks are expensive – 2+€ You may want to pack snacks.

Please note: This is not a school-sponsored trip. Students need to complete the necessary paperwork for a “Pre-Arranged Absence” for all/part of the day Friday, April 1.

Rules and Expectations In order to have an enjoyable trip for all: Being part of a group Successful group travel is dependent upon considerate, unselfish behavior by all members of the group Punctuality The Tour Director will outline planned activities. All participants must always be on time. A late start may result in activities being canceled. Neatness All participants should keep themselves and their belongings orderly. This includes the hotel rooms and sightseeing bus. Meeting others We will be traveling with students and group leaders from other schools. Getting to know them is a bonus. Listening Listen carefully to all instructions you receive from the group leaders, Tour Director and guides.

Rules and Expectations Participate All scheduled activities are obligatory. If you are unable to participate due to a physical ailment, inform one of the group leaders. All participants must be at breakfast and dinner daily. Courtesy No cell phone or iPod use during tours – including bus tours. Curfew / Hotel Rooms Visitors or group members of the opposite sex and NOT permitted in students’ rooms. The group leaders will establish a curfew. For your own safety and security you are expected to respect the nightly curfew. Room checks will be made at curfew. Phone Calls / Incidental Personal Expenses Participants are required to pay for any phone calls or incidental personal expenses incurred at hotels. These will be payable the evening before departure at each hotel.

Rules and Expectations Smoking / Tobacco Products Not allowed. Hitchhiking / Motor Vehicles Hitchhiking and/or driving/renting of motor vehicles are forbidden. Alcohol / Drugs Use or possession not allowed. Shoplifting / Possession of illegal drugs Not allowed. Should the authorities be involved, participants are subject to the laws of the country they are visiting. Damages Compensation for damage to hotel rooms or buses is the responsibility of the participants.

Rules and Expectations Free Time Options will be provided. No one is allowed to go by themselves. You must always be in a group and everyone in the group is responsible for all group members.

Phone Calling Cell phones may or may not work. Check with company regarding international charges International Calling Cards are available from EF as well as other places Hotels usually have pay phones in the lobby.
