Facebook Applications and Marketing Teppo Räisänen Miikka Blomster

Basic info Learning outcomes – The students will be able to apply their previous knowledge in Facebook environment. The students will be able to write and execute a business plan. The students will be able to design and implement Facebook applications.

Basic info 6 credits Project-based course – 4-5 student teams – Ideally 2 TIK/BIT students, 2 LIK/DIB students in each team Prerequisites – Web applications development from BIT-students – Web-sovellusten kehittäminen from TIK-students

Schedule Seminars (3 x 4h), auditorium (B353) – Opening seminar Monday 1.8. at – Direction seminar Friday at – Presentation seminar Friday at Lectures at , rooms B249 (B254) – Tue 2.8., Thr 4.8., Mon 8.8., Tue 9.8., Thr 11.8., Mon 15.8., Tue and Thr 18.8.

Course requirements Participation in the seminars Active participation in project teams Facebook application – Presented at the presentation seminar Marketing plan – Consists of product analysis, customer segmentation & analysis, media & content plan – Presented at the persentation seminar

Course evaluation Peer evaluation and seminar presentations – 33% of final grade Facebook application – 33% of final grade Marketing plan – 33% of final grade

Today Form project teams (15min) – 4-5 students – Pick a project leader – Try to have a mix of different talents (e.g. graphic designer, 1-2 x programmers, 1-2 business students) Brainstorming of application ideas (45min) – 5 min for idea creation – 40 min for evaluation Marketing plan lecture (1h)
