 Driver Monitoring = Using a camera to track facial features of user and detect distraction  Brake Assist Plus = A radar based system to sense objects in front of the car  Lane Keeping Assist = Uses camera to monitor cars position in lane  Pre-Safe = Prepares passengers for accidents Terms

Technology in UseResult Phase 1 – Prior to Emergency Situation Driver Monitoring SystemsMonitor the driver to ensure that they are engaged in the driving experience and focused on the road. Keep driver fatigue in check. Active Safety Systems Driver Monitoring Systems

Technology in UseResult Phase 2 – Initial Emergency Conditions Sensed, No Autonomous Action Brake Assist Plus Notifies driver that an emergency stop required. (2.6 seconds prior to estimated impact). Lane Keeping AssistNotifies driver they are drifting from lane. Phase 3 – Intervention Action Necessary, Some Autonomous Action Brake Assist Plus Initiates partial braking at 40% (1.6 seconds prior to estimated impact). If driver engages brakes full force is automatically applied. Lane Keeping AssistUses steering or selective braking as corrective action, automobile returned to lane. Active Safety Systems Accident Notification and Prevention

Technology in UseResult Phase 4 – Imminent Crash, Fully Autonomous Action Brake Assist Plus Applies full braking force (0.6 seconds prior to impact). ABS used to increase stopping force. Pre-SafeRestrains occupants, prepares cabin for crash. Phase 5 – Crash Phase 6 – Post Crash Response Pre-SafeCalls for help, turns on hazard lights, turns engine off.
