Marc Chagall ( ) From large, Jewish family in Russia. Studied in Paris, France Developed his own style: bright colors & dream like images Influenced by CUBISM & SURREALISM Lived in France & Italy until he was 96.

A 20 th century style of art Is a picture broken into many shapes(each shapes will have different colors form the other colors around it.) Has multiple viewpoints, a style associated with the works of artist Pablo Picasso. CUBISM

The use of fantastic imagery to combine the dreamlike with the realistic. SURREALISM

Geometric Shapes: Any shape and/or forms based on math principals, such as square/cube, circle/sphere, and triangle/cone, pyramid, etc.

Organic Shapes: Shapes and/or forms similar to those found in nature, such as plants, animals and rocks.

Free Form Shapes: A Shape or form having an asymmetrical or irregular contour, often with a curvilinear, flowing outline, sometimes referred as “organic” or “biomorphic”.

Positive Space: The actual space taken up by the line, shape, or form. Negative Space: The empty surrounding a shape, figure, or form in a two or three dimensional artwork.
