What do we do for constituents Advice: website, newsletter, telephone and email Template letters Administering benevolent fund Local negotiations: LES and other contractual issues Supporting GPs Group GP Sub/Health Board Axis

Seeking the Views of Constituents Survey: Awareness of LMC and Reps, Newsletter, Benevolent Fund Less awareness of website, Willingness to ask LMC questions and influence work Elections: 2014 Discussion.

Seeking the Views of Constituents Survey Monkey Results Total of 40 respondents to the LMC Customer Satisfaction Survey. Pie charts show the percentage of respondents who selected the indicated answers (total >100% where respondents have selected more than 1 option) Where comments have been provided, these are listed below each chart.

1 Comment : “Good information from newsletters and e-mails about the LMC in Forth Valley, but I do not know if there is a locality or CHP representative for my area.”

1. “late surgeries and annual leave” 2. “Very helpful and useful” (0) (0) 3 Comments 1. “late surgeries and annual leave” 2. “Very helpful and useful” 3. “intended to attend contract meeting but was ill”

11 Comments “How can we help primary & secondary care to understand one another better.” “on what your purpose is and what you actually do” “ad hoc as needs arise re contract, pension issues etc and updates on changes” “dont know ,what could you cover list of topics useful” “Continue to organise similar meetings as above” “updates re pensions + BMA action to protect/represent the profession” “They are organising the most relevant meetings.” “Appropriate subjects as they arise” “Pensions / Contract - Unfortunately I was unable to attend either. In 20 years I have never seen GP morale as low. Most GPs of my generation appear to be trying hard to stick it out to Retirement at the earliest possible opportunity. the constant contract changes and need for serial Practice Meetings for Qof etc is seriously impacting on the ability to see Patients. Many larger Practices now effectively have an 'Admin' or 'Contract Partner' whose time with patients is significantly curtailed. Much of the work demanded is time consuming, unproductive, pointless and inconsequential - most frustrating as the work that earns the money is frequently not the work which involves patient contact.” “Contract, pensions” “Contract update”

3 Comments “the practice has had complaints from the hospital after using these templates.” ”Very helpful, thankyou” ”I think they are mental”

5 Comments “I would like to it to be more influential with regard to the Health Board.” “trying to slow the avalanche of shifting care with no resources” ”continuing the good work” ”encouraging constructive communication between primary and secondary care.” “Educate the health board and secondary care about what happens in primary care (i.e. almost everything )”

1 Comment 1. “How do you spell benevolent?”
