10 Research Background As Indoor Location Based Service (ILBS) attract attention, a great deal of research is on going. Some of the ILBS’s have already been put into practice for commercial and disaster. Ex) 1) Navitime Navitime provides indoor and outdoor navigation service in Japan that is enable us to ride train efficiency and avoid traffic jam. 2) e911 Phone sends position data when people call an ambulance or fire engine. 3) Micello Micello provides indoor map of shopping mall through smart phone. Situations of ILBS and Issue of Research Situations of ILBS 1)Most of these applications are dedicated to one specific building 2)No application can provide a service to handle any indoor environment in a standardized way. Issues of the Research 1)Building manager and users have to apply various software in order to manage and use ILBS 2)Change of the indoor environment does not reflect the ILBS applications. 11

15 Rival in Previous Research Title is: “A comparison of GIS architecture for implementing indoor location-based service” Authors are: Valerio Vianello, Cristiano di Flora, Christian Prehofer, Their Aim is : ・ to extend the scope of GIS system. ・ to develop standards for indoor applications. What they showed are: ・ System Architecture that enable users to expand fusibilities of indoor applications. ・ how to use the map into existing indoor location based service. Issue, which are still remain, is: ・ how to mash up existing Indoor location based application into their system.
