The Five Precepts of Learners

Respect and Manners Bow when entering or leaving the practice area Bow to higher ranked belts and instructors Address the instructor as “Sensei” and the Black Belts as “Mr.” or “Ms.” Respect for everyone and courtesy to all is probably the most important rule in Yoshukai karate.

Be Prudent in Action Choose to use your Yoshukai skills for defense, not offense. Do not be the aggressor. In other words, defend yourself when absolutely necessary, but don’t be the one to start a fight.

Be Prudent in Speech Do not use vulgar or profane language in the dojo. Show courtesy and respect by using the proper language in class.

Keep High Spirited Stay positive and keep working on your skills. Show respect to your instructor and class by being diligent and giving them your total concentration.

Keep Yourself Clean Clean body. Clean gi. Clean mind.

The Five Precepts 1.Respect and Manners 2.Be Prudent in Action 3.Be Prudent in Speech 4.Keep High Spirited 5.Keep Yourself Clean
