Dolphins By: Nichole Elliott Web Quest for Second Grade

Introduction The local zoo is receiving a dolphin for their exhibit and they do not know what to do. They have never had a dolphin before. They heard we were discussing dolphins and wanted our help.

Task Use the following to get information: National Geographic & Enchanted Learning National Geographic Enchanted Learning Your tasks are to: Learn everything you can about the dolphin: where the it lives, what it eats and how much, what it’s predators, do they like to live alone or in groups. Draw a picture of the dolphins home at the zoo, make a sign for the care taker.

Process You will need to research the following: 1)Where do dolphins lives? 2)What do dolphins eat and how much? 3)What are the dolphins predators? 4)Do they like to live alone or in groups?

Process Continued Then you need to decide how big of a tank to put your dolphin in and draw a picture of it. Go to Paint to do this. Make sure to use lots of detail. Finally make a sign for the care taker, telling them what you found out about the dolphin include: habitat, diet, and predators.

Evaluation Go to National Geographic and take the quiz on dolphins.National Geographic Turn in your picture of your dolphin’s new home. Turn in your poster for your care taker.

Conclusions Congratulations! You have helped the zoo keeper find the perfect home for the dolphin, and helped the zoo keeper to be able to take care of the dolphin. They wanted to thank you for all of your hard work.
