The Lead The most important paragraph in the story is the lead because it gets your reader into the story. If you have a boring lead, then the read will stop and no matter what you say at the end of the story, they will not read it. The Lead summarizes the most important information: who, what, when, where, why, and how. Does your lead answer the 5Ws and one H? If not, revise.

Feature Lead Examples 1. Anecdotal lead You can start your personality feature with a story that relates to the FOCUS of the feature. Anecdote Example When sophomore Kelly Miller was ten years old, her favorite activity was playing video games.Every weekend Kelly spent hours playing. Her parents were angry that she spent so much time on the computer, but things changed when she became interested in creating video games of her own to share with her friends. She took some Java in school and learned to program and today at 14 years old she is a video game producer. FOCUS of this story will be on Kelly’s video game interest.
