In a brief paragraph, share your opinion on whether video games are beneficial or harmful and include at least one piece of evidence you learned from the article.

Today’s Learning Goal I will analyze a student writing model by marking the text to identify elements of a justification. I will also create an outline for a justification of my own by taking notes and choosing topic-related vocabulary.

Analyzing a Student Writing Model After reading the article, I am convinced that video games can cause teens significant harm. One reason is that games can be addictive and distract teens from more important things. For example, one of my friends plays her favorite video game from the moment she gets home from school until she goes to bed. Additionally, the article points out that many video games contain violent scenes. This is important because playing violent video games can influence teens’ behavior and make them more aggressive. For these reasons, I maintain the position that video games are not beneficial to teens.

Identifying Precise Words IntroductionSection 1Section 2Section 3 Virtual World Accomplish In control Technology Chemical Hard-wired anti-social Stereotype aggression

Exit Reflection List the opinion you plan to express on video games in your justification paper and at least two pieces of evidence you plan to include from the article to support your claim.
