Anti-Comintern Pact protect the common interests of both Japan and Germany against the armed pressure exerted by the Soviet Union Germany and Japan both wanted to expand but had problems with Russia the pact was handled by Joachim von Rippentrop RESULT: Japan was granted more freedom to around and take territory in China

GERMAN and JAPANESE SIDES GERMAN: never given a chance to take control and develop an empire like the rest of the western nations JAPANESE: was left alone in the east -was forced to watch as the western nations took control of its surrounding nations and left with nothing to colonize except China when Japan was starting to expand in China, Russia provided resistance (supporting their Communist partners), thus ending the frienship between Japan and Russia.
