The Members John Lennon 约翰列侬 [ ] HHe is famous in the world as one of the founders and the rhythm guitarist of the Beatles, and he is also known for his unruly character and outstanding intelligence. AAs a peace activist, he is very controversial around the world. HHe was shot to death in New York in 1980 by one of his fans.

The Members Paul McCartney 保罗 · 麦卡特尼 ( ) AAs the bassist( 贝斯手 ) of the Beatles, he is considered the symbol of music in the 20 th century, and is recorded in the Guinness World Records( 吉尼斯 世界纪录 )as the most successful composer( 作曲家 ) in history. TThe musical combination of Paul McCartney and John Lennon is the most successful and influential one in the world. They wrote numerous popular songs when working together.

The Members George Harrison 乔治 · 哈里森 ( ）  He is the lead guitarist( 主吉他手 ) of the Beatles. In1958, as a good friend of Paul McCartney, George Harrison joined the Beatles. The Beatles was basically formed afterwards.  George Harrison was attracted by Indian music and philosophy, which deeply influenced his life and musical composition( 音乐创 作 ).

The Members Ringo Starr 林戈 · 斯塔尔 ( ）  He is the drummer of the Beatles.  Actually, he was not one of the members of the Beatles when it was originally formed. Two other members had quit for some reason before his join.  Ringo Starr’s excellent use of the drummer indeed added much power to their songs.

The Beatles’Success  They members were called the godfathers of rock music( 摇滚乐教父 ). They brought into being many new musical styles and inspired a lot of new ideas and concepts, which influenced singers and composers in the following generations.  They were spiritual idols of that era. They managed to break through the old- fashioned moral ideas and values left over by the Victorian era( 维多利 亚时代 ) and they successfully called for enterprise( 进取心 ), freedom and humanity among people with their rock music.

Beatles will never really die IIIIn their music, the Beatles moved from simple love songs to songs about changes taking place in 1960s society. The albums Rubber Soul and Revolver were considered  E E E Each of the Beatles went on to a solo career. But fans always hoped the group would get back together. This hope ended when Lennon was murdered by an obsessed fan in1980.In 2001, Harrison died of cancer. But fans know that the Beatles will somehow never really die.
