Future Business Leaders of America FBLA- Salpointe Catholic

Clubs in the Salpointe Community  There are currently 26 clubs in Salpointe Catholic High School.  They range from a glitzy Salsa Club to a faithful and athletic Crossing the Goal Club.  There are approximately 520 students in our school that participate/pertain to a club.

What is FBLA?  Future Business Leaders of America is a national organization that unites students, teachers, and business professionals through promoting an atmosphere that helps develop business leadership, communication, and team skills. This organization is meant for prospective business leaders to meet and network with others at the local, state, and national levels that are also interested in the business entrepreneurship field (FBLA-PBL, online).

What is FBLA? (cont.)  A quarter of a million students from the high school and middle school levels have teamed up with faculty, educators, administrators, and business professionals from their community to input a branch of this premier business education association into their community to prepare students for a career in business (FBLA-PBL, online).

Background on FBLA  It is the largest and oldest business student organization in the world.  Business teachers, advisers, and advisory councils (including school officials, businesspeople, and community representatives) guide local chapters.  FBLA-PBL, Inc. is funded by membership dues, conference fees, corporate contributions, and grants.

Advantages of FBLA  While applying for academic scholarships for university, students can demonstrate their participation in a leadership infused society and display their enhanced experience in the field of business, enabling students to attract business schools that their were looking for.

Advantages of FBLA (cont.)  Students can improve on their public speech, strengthen their confidence, and be exposed to actual executive decisions. This creates a new sense of accomplishment in a young being interested in commerce, building a better prepared future in the industry.

Why Salpointe Needs FBLA  There is a diverse variety of clubs to join, but none that completely cover business and leadership.  The closest that comes to this category is our Junior Statesmen of America.  Finally, Salpointe has manyof young leaders present and active in our local and educational communities worthy of being developed.

Why Salpointe Needs FBLA (cont.)  New student leaders can build a sense of responsibility with those whom they interact with.  Students will grow an attitude to serve and lead in service activities.

How Students Will Benefit From FBLA  Students will not only be able to perfect their leadership qualities, but enhance their responsibility, intellect, and intelligence capacity.  Lancers will gain more experience in the field of entrepreneurship and be rewarded with higher and more advanced skills in problem solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.

FBLA Connects With:  Business  Leadership  Careers  Friends  Competition  Scholarships  Colleges  Travel  Services

FBLA Allows Students Covers Categories Such As:  Accounting  Web design  Cyber security  Entrepreneurship  Business math  And so much more…

What FBLA Requires  Fill out the back pages of Chapter Organization Packet/Start Up Kit. Submit the completed form.  Pay a one-time $20 start-up fee and include an Arizona $5.00 due and national dues (FBLA- $6.00).  They then assign a chapter number and we may begin registering additional students online. State and National dues must be paid for each member.  FBLA events and services include: competitive events, integrated curriculum, national conferences, and instructional technology.
