7  Provisions of the 2015-16 BELP Contract:  Supporting the two Industry Sectors of Business & Finance and Marketing, Sales & Service, the contract includes:  Information Dissemination  Informational Webinars  Professional Development  CTE Model Curriculum Standards Training  Program & Pathway development meeting  MBA Research Train the Trainer  MBA Research Training Institute  Advisory Meetings of the BERG

9  Information Dissemination: A BELP newsletter is distributed bi-monthly. It contains pertinent and relevant information regarding Business & Marketing programs, upcoming events, resources, etc. Are you receiving them?

10 Standards for Career Ready Practice  Good news for us! The new standards call for Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy to be infused in ALL industry sectors!  Standards for Career Ready Practice are for ALL disciplines.

11 THE 12 STANDARDS FOR CAREER READY PRACTICE These standards are taught and reinforced in all career exploration and preparation programs or integrated into core curriculum, with increasingly higher levels of complexity and expectation. 1. Apply appropriate technical skills and academic knowledge. 2. Communicate clearly, effectively, and with reason. 3. Develop an education and career plan aligned with personal goals. 4. Apply technology to enhance productivity. 5. Utilize critical thinking to make sense of problems and persevere in solving them. 6. Practice personal health and understand financial literacy. 7. Act as a responsible citizen in the workplace and the community.

12 8. Model integrity, ethical leadership, and effective management. 9. Work productively in teams while integrating cultural and global competence. 10. Demonstrate creativity and innovation. 11. Employ valid and reliable research strategies. 12. Understand the environmental, social, and economic impacts of decisions.

13 THE BERG Business Education Resources Group  You have an advisory committee at your site, the State has an advisory committee as well.  The Business Education Resources Group is comprised of Business and Marketing educators, administrators, and industry partners.  This year, the BERG has accomplished the following:

16 BUILDING BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS Two handouts were created: 1) Tips/Ideas for enhancing partnerships 2) Want to Help In the Classroom? Ideas on HOW to do just that!

17 ONE STOP SHOPPING! One page resource guide for all Business & Marketing teachers. Hot off the press – this resource list was created in February 2016 with all resources being recommended by teachers currently in the field!
