Short Stories: a)  Introduction - The beginning of the story where the characters and the setting is revealed. b)  Rising Action - This is where the events in the story become complicated and the conflict in the story is revealed. c)  Climax - This is the highest point of interest and the turning point of the story.  The reader wonders what will happen next; will the conflict be resolved or not? d)  Falling action - The events and complications begin to resolve themselves.  (events between climax and denouement).

Part 3 Animal Farm!! What is the Terror? What do the dogs do in the book? Who is Napoleon? Who is Old Major? What are 2 examples of propaganda? Why does Squealer use propaganda? What happens to Boxer? How does it make you feel?

Part 4 Romeo and Juliet! Tragedy is kind of drama that presents a serious subject matter about human suffering and corresponding terrible events in a dignified manner. A tragic hero is a person of noble birth with heroic or potentially heroic qualities. This person is fated by the Gods or by some supernatural force to doom and destruction or at least to great suffering. But the hero struggles mightily against this fate and this cosmic conflict wins our admiration.

Romeo’s Tragic Flaw Lack of ‘Moderation’ A Tragic flaw is a literary device that can be defined as a trait in a character leading to his downfall and the character is often the hero of the literary piece. Lack of ‘Moderation’ Examples in the Play: 1. Romeo is always extreme. He gets very deeply depressed and extremely happy. 2. He is quick to fight Tybalt and Paris 3. He is quick to commit suicide 4. He is quick to marry Juliet even after the Friar says he loved Rosaline quickly, fell out of love with her quickly, cried over her, then fell in love with Juliet at mere sight and a kiss. All this leads to his downfall. Romeo cannot escape this personality flaw that leads to his downfall and to both his and Juliet’s deaths.

Summaries Can you write a summary of the play? What are the most important things that happen in the play?
