HERE COMES JESUS (PART I)

ALL OF THE OLD TESTAMENT SCRIPTURES SPEAK ABOUT JESUS! “As to this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that WOULD COME to you, made careful search and inquiry, seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow.” I Peter 1:10-11

ALL OF THE OLD TESTAMENT SCRIPTURES SPEAK ABOUT JESUS! “For if you believed Moses, you would believe me, for MOSES WROTE OF ME.” (John 5:46)

A. HERE COMES JESUS THROUGH THE OFFERINGS OF ISRAEL! SWEET SAVOUR OFFERINGS AND NON-SWEET SAVOUR OFFERINGS

SWEET SAVOUR OFFERINGS SWEET SAVOUR OFFERINGS FOCUSED ON GOD: 1.His willingness to initiate peace with man 2.His willingness to forgive man’s sins 3.His willingness to accept man once again (burnt offerings; meat offerings; peace offerings) HOW DO YOU SEE JESUS IN THESE OFFERINGS?

NON-SWEET SAVOUR OFFERINGS NON-SWEET SAVOUR OFFERINGS FOCUSED ON MAN: 1.His sinfulness and disobedience 2.His guilt and his shame 3.His un-acceptance before God (involved the sin offerings & trespass offerings) HOW DO YOU SEE JESUS IN THESE OFFERINGS?

B. HERE COMES JESUS THROUGH THE FEASTS OF ISRAEL! THE FEASTS OF ISRAEL: 1.THE FEAST OF PASSOVER 2.THE FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD 3.THE FEAST OF FIRST FRUITS 4.THE FEAST OF PENTECOST 5.THE FEAST OF TRUMPETS 6.THE FEAST OF THE DAY OF ATONEMENT 7.THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES HOW DO YOU SEE JESUS IN THE FEASTS OF ISRAEL?

II. HERE COMES JESUS TO TAKE AWAY OUR SINS! “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29) “And you know that He appeared in order to take away sins.” I John 3:5)

WHAT HAS GOD DONE ABOUT OUR SIN? 1.God pardons all our sin (Ps. 103:3; Micah 7:18) 2.God passes by all our sin (Micah 7:18) 3.God tramples all our sin under His feet (Micah 7:19)

WHAT HAS GOD DONE ABOUT OUR SIN? 4.God has buried our sins in the depths of the sea (Micah 7:19) 5.God has cast our sins behind His back (Isaiah 38:17) 6. God has blotted out every transgression from His book of record (Isaiah 44:21)

WHAT HAS GOD DONE ABOUT OUR SIN? 7.God chooses to remember our sins no more (Isaiah 43:25) 8.God carried all our sins away (Isaiah 53:6) 9.God has removed our sins as far as the East is from the West (Psalm 103:12) 10. God nailed our sins to the cross with the debt paid in full (Colossians 2:4)

1. pardoned our sin 2. passed by our sin 3. trampled our sin under his feet 4. buried our sin in the depths of the sea 5. cast our sin behind His back 6. blotted out every sin from His book 7. remembers our sin no more 8. carried our sins away 9. removed our sins as far as East is from West 10. nailed our sins to the cross with our debt fully paid

TRUTH TO LIVE BY 1. JESUS CHRIST PERSONALLY CAME FROM HEAVEN TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT OUR SINS THAT WE COULD NOT DO OURSELVES!

TRUTH TO LIVE BY 2. EVERYTHING THAT EVER NEEDED TO BE DONE ABOUT OUR SINS HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE FOR US BY JESUS CHRIST!

TRUTH TO LIVE BY THE FORGIVENESS OF OUR SINS IS NOT COMPLETE UNTIL WE ACCEPT THE FORGIVENESS THAT GOD OFFERS TO EACH ONE OF US! “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:12
