Remission = freedom, pardon, forgiveness, liberty
Verb = to throw away or cast off
Acts 10:43 - remission = dismissal, release

5. SINS Nailed to The Cross He died in our place
Colossians 2:14 “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;”
Our sins were transferred to Jesus
He died in our place
Our sins were nailed with him to that cross.!

Cleansed
1 John 1:7-9 “cleanses us from all sin” “and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”
Cleanse = to make clean, purge purify
Purged = to clear of guilt
Sin makes us dirty –
2 Pet. 2:7 “the filthy conduct of the wicked”
Acts 22:16 “wash away thy sins”

8. SINS Cast into the Depths of the Sea
Micah 7:19 “He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.”
Like Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea
Our sins are lost, destroyed, buried out of sight.
They cannot be retrieved !

9. SINS Removed Forever Forgotten
Psalms 103:12 “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.”

After sacrifice of Christ their sins were not remembered.

Redemption = ransom in full, deliverance
Eph. 1:7 “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins…”
Freedom from consequences of sin
