IMPORTANT DATES January 13 – Door-to-Door Girl Scout Cookie Program begins (DO NOT START EARLIER THAN THIS DATE) January 30 – Door-to-Door sale ends (Girls continue to take pre-orders) __________ - Order cards due to TCM February – Cookie Delivery to troops February 24 – March 23 – Direct/Cookie Booth sale _______ - TCM will give deadline date to have everything turned in

WHY COOKIES? To help girls learn about Financial Literacy and Cookie Business (Girls’ Guide to Girl Scouting) WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? All registered Girl Scouts WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT? To focus on the Girl Scout leadership experience – discover, connect and take action to ensure it is girl-led, learning by doing and cooperative learning

PROCEEDS & RECOGNITIONS

This is the default troop base proceeds (a definite for Daisy, Brownie, and Junior Girl Scouts) $.43* Cadette, Senior, Ambassador and older girls not associated with a Girl Scout troop opting out of the recognitions Girls earn only patches and cookie dough. Girls will not receive double Cookie Dough nor 300+ Early or Main Recognition. $.48* Troop Base Proceeds *Troop base proceeds cannot be changed after initial order deadline.

GIRL RECOGNITIONS gssccookies.org, Girls Order Card and Cookie Gram for Girl Scout families Troops that select the $.43 per package troop base proceeds will receive recognitions and patches. Troops that select $.48 per package, an option for older girls, will receive patches only and cookie dough (excluding double cookie dough)

GIRL RECOGNITIONS

Increments of $2.50 and $5.00 Girls selling 150 packages receive $15.00 and every additional 25-package increment, girls earn an additional $2.50 Mailed directly to the girls Cookie Dough will not be replaced if lost, stolen or damaged. Begins at 150 packages Cookie Dough use: Council-sponsored Girl Scout Day Camp and Resident Camp fees Council-Sponsored program event fees (designated events in FOCALPoint) GSUSA-sponsored destinations Council-sponsored trips with regional, national or international itineraries Girl Scout Silver and Gold Award project expenses and to help pay for Girl Scout LIFETIME Membership Usage COOKIE DOUGH Can be found in the 2012 Cookie Gram for Girl Scout families

SAFETY

SAFETY GUIDELINES All girls selling must be a registered Girl Scout Girls must be accompanied by adults at all times Sell door-to-door only during daylight hours Do not enter the home of a stranger or approach customers in cars

SAFETY GUIDELINES Do not carry large amounts of cash Girls should never give out her phone number and address to strangers Minimum of two adults must be present at all times when girls are at a cookie booth

COOKIE BOOTHS

COOKIE BOOTHS under Resources Troops set up at certain businesses to sell Girl Scout cookies directly to the customers (after TCM has gone through SUCM) Each girl and parent must sign a Cookie Etiquette Contract (if participating in a booth sale)

COOKIE BOOTHS Have at least two girls and two adults on site at all times. NO ADULT-ONLY BOOTHS. Girls should do the selling and be identifiable as Girl Scouts wearing a membership pin, official uniform or other Girl Scout clothing

MONEY MATTERS

If accepting checks, the following is required: name, address, phone number and driver’s license number along with expiration date, date of birth (no starter checks) – please check against their driver’s license Parent should receive a receipt for any product received or money given (troop always keep the white receipt copy). Must have TCM and parent /guardians signature MONEY MATTERS
