Your muscular system is an important organ system consisting of skeletal, smooth, and cardiac muscle. Skeletal muscle: Produces movement, maintains posture, stabilizes joints and generates heat. Smooth muscle: Found in the walls of hollow organs Cardiac muscle: Exist only in your heart Your Skeletal muscles cover you skeleton, giving your body its shape Your Smooth muscles are found in hollow walls of your organs like your intestines or stomach Your Cardiac muscles are found in your heart and are the only type of muscle in your heart also the only one that doesn't get tired

Like most systems in the body the muscular does not work in isolation. The most obvious system that interact with muscular system are skeletal system, and the nervous system, and the circulatory system. Muscles are also involved in the digestive system, the respiratory system and the immune system

Muscles make up 40% of your total weight To take one step you use 200 muscles It takes half as long to gain weight as it does to lose it

There are muscles in the root of your hair that give you goose bumps It takes 17 muscles to smile and 42 to frown The hardest 2 working muscles are the eye and tongue The largest muscle in your body is the gluteus
