Underwater Escape Training with new generation HUET simulator Pekka Eskelinen

Experiences from SSTC Scandinavian Safety Training Centre AB, SSTCAB Stefan Nilsson Mats Mellberg

Cabin underwater escape course The course aims to enhance the ability to survive when an airplane or helicopter (or any other vehicle) sinks and/or turns upside down in the water. This training will give participants a better understanding of the importance of preparation before an emergency landing on water. The training focuses on the cabin environment and how you as an individual and the crew as a whole evacuates regardless if the craft is a helicopter, a boat or an aircraft.

Cabin underwater escape course During this course, participants are taught systematically how to act in order not to panic and get disoriented when evacuating from the cabin or cockpit. The course is comparable to international HUET training.

Cabin underwater escape course The course starts with a theoretical stage, which includes: Experience around underwater evacuation Security Crash Positions and basic methodology for making an emergency landing in the water / ditch

Cabin underwater escape course The practical exercises in a pool raise water awareness and trainees are able to practice survival methods individually and in groups : Evacuation drills on the surface and under the water Surface survival and rescue Water Awareness / Emergency Air exercises
