Fun Facts Newton's Third Law of Motion: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Kinds of Energy

Electrical Energy Electrical Energy is the movement of electrical charges. Electrical charges moving through a wire is called electricity. Lightning is another example of electrical energy.

Chemical Energy Chemical Energy is energy stored in the bonds of atoms and molecules. It is the energy that holds these particles together. When you bake a cake, energy is absorbed by the batter as it changes from a runny mix into a cake.

Nuclear Energy Nuclear Energy is energy stored in the nucleus of an atom––the energy that holds the nucleus together. Scientists are working on creating fusion energy on earth, so that someday there might be fusion power plants.

Fuel Fact Sheet

Fuel Cell Electric 1839 William Grove NASA uses for space flight 1998 Chicago first city to power buses. Requires Hydrogen

1830s-1920s was popular Uses electrical and mechanical energy Japan was first in 1997, Toyota Use gasoline or renewable resources. Save money with fueling Hybrid Electric
