CNG can be the best alternative for Petrol & Diesel

Vocabulary Compressed: the reduction in volume (causing an increase in pressure) of the fuel mixture in an internal-combustion engine before ignition. Combustion: the process of burning something. Disperses: distribute or spread over a wide area. Modified: make partial or minor changes to something. Dedicated: devoted to a task or purpose. Conjunction: a word used to connect clauses or sentences or to coordinate words in the same clause (e.g. and, but, if ). Lubricating: apply a substance such as oil or grease to (an engine or component) so as to minimize friction and allow smooth movement.

Introduction Compressed natural gas (CNG) (Methane stored at high pressure) can be used in place of gasoline (petrol), Diesel fuel land propane/LPG. CNG combustion produces fewer undesirable gases than the fuels mentioned above. It is safer than other fuels in the event of a spill, because natural gas is lighter than air and disperses quickly when released. CNG may be found above oil deposits, or may be collected from landfills or wastewater treatment plants where it is known as biogas. CNG is used in traditional gasoline/internal combustion engine automobiles that have been modified or in vehicles which were manufactured for CNG use, either alone ('dedicated'), with a segregated gasoline system to extend range (dual fuel) or in conjunction with another fuel such as diesel (bi-fuel).

Advantages of CNG over Petrol and Diesel CNG is cheaper than petrol and diesel. CNG powered vehicle has: 1.Low maintenance cost 2.No evaporation losses. 3.Increase life of lubricating oil. Lighter than air. Doesn’t leak into ground water. High ignition temperature (510degrees C) Produce less pollutant elements.

Drawbacks of CNG over petrol and diesel CNG vehicle needs more space for vehicle storage. According to Conference in IIT Mumbai, CNG has one radio active element which has harmful effects that can cause lung cancer. So CNG is dangerous than diesel and petrol for health.
