What does the National Plan represent ? National Civil Emergency Plan is the first ever document of its kind in Albania It reflects: Policy and main priorities of Albanian in the Civil Emergency Service Albanian and international experience in the field of civil emergencies Albanian legal base, standards and widely accepted procedures It systematizes and clarifies roles and responsibilities of all relevant governmental institutions and civil society organizations for the Civil Emergency management Assures a planned and coordinated use of all national and international capacities in the country It doesn’t substitute other line ministries and institutions plans, and on the contrary bucks up and serves as a guide for them National Plan has been prepared based in a correct and logical procedure and methodology, which include Risk Assessment study, large consultations, information sharing, and a comprehension and consensus of all relevant institutions and organizations

LAST SUMMER FOREST FIRES IN ALBANIA

During July- August, was declared the emergency situation and the Inter-Ministerial Committee chaired by deputy Prime Minister was established, composed by Minister of Interior, Minister of Defence, Minister of Environment and Minister of Health. Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Defense were involved. Prefects supported by Civil Emergency Commission were fully engaged. Head of the operations at center level were General Director of Civil Emergencies and Joint Armed Forces Commander. Operational forces involved Forest Service Fire Fighting and Rescue Service Armed Forces State Police Ambulance Service Local Authorities Community. Albanian structures involved in forest fire fighting operations

Thanks to EADRCC and MIC due to information sharing and coordination support, we rented Fire Fighting Aircraft from Ukraine, Helicopters from Germany and we got support from other countries also. Thanks to Italian Civil Protection Department for continuous support with fire fighting aircrafts. Greek fire fighting service for joint efforts for fire fighting in the border areas. We got fire fighting equipments and materials from: a.Austria b.Sweden c.Czech Republic d.Greece Financial support from a)USAID International support
