 Selected districts to be notified beginning April 29  Some districts asked to coordinate chaperone and transportation efforts to economize on travel costs.  Deadline to register students – May 29, 2013  Complete parent student packet  Register students through MSIS  Mail completed packet to Islandwood Voices from the Field

 End-of-Year Report for Regular School Year  iGrants Form Package 521  Due Date July 15, 2013 MEP Program Report

 Ensure all data of services provided with program funds are reported in MSIS for school year  Ensure all expenditures claimed in grant were allowable, reasonable, and necessary to meet the identified needs of migrant students.  Note the FTE and headcount for each position funded with program funds (Program 53)  Report the FTE and headcount for all MEP funded para- educators and then report the FTE and headcount of those same para-educators that met Title I Part A’s “qualified” definition.  Note the number of PFS students served by the program.  Identify the meeting dates the Parent Advisory Council met during the school year to plan, review implementation, and evaluate the services provided under the Migrant Education Program to meet the identified needs of migrant students.  Describe the results of the evaluation process.  Describe the professional development opportunities provided to school staff to better serve migrant students.  List the equipment/technology that has been purchased with program funds over the past five years and how it has been used to meet the needs of migrant students. MEP Program Report

 Describe the activities and services the migrant- funded graduation specialist and/or student advocate have been providing to migrant students. MEP Program Report

 Training is available by ESD migrant funded staff  Curriculum to be used with migrant students only  Pre and Post test data to be entered on line in MSIS  Submit all reports and surveys to OSPI no later than August 30, 2013 Math MASTERS/ Math MATTERS

 Same process as SY  Need to add to budget under Activity 27-7  If constraints on local budget please contact our office and we will work with district to ensure migrant students access PASS PASS

Recruiter Duties 1.Actively identify and recruit all eligible migrant children residing in the school district/community from 0 through 21 years of age. This includes: Survey the area on a regular basis to confirm the location and presence of migrant workers and their families Develop an identification & recruitment network with organizations and agencies that provide services to migrant workers and their families

Recruiter Duties 2.Complete a Certificate of Eligibility according to state/federal guidelines for each eligible migrant family immediately upon arriving to the school district/community For students in school and out-of-school “to the school district” not just your school building 3.Annually revalidate all families’ most recent move information. Revalidation report: by month Priority for Services

Recruiter Duties 4.Share with migrant parents and students information regarding the Migrant Education Program, as well as all school services/programs available to them. This includes instructional programs, MSIS, physical exams, alternative educational programs, and options for Out-of- School Youth, preschool programs, adult basic education programs, GED programs, post secondary opportunities, etc

 Connection between home and school  Home visits  Orientation of accessible school programs student(s) are eligible to receive  Academic program that connects to what is being instructed in the classroom  Connect families to community resources  Promote and encourage attendance to PAC and general parent meetings Home Liaison Duties
