5/9/20152 Have you committed sin? Of course you have. The above Scriptures make it plain that each one of us chooses at some point to sin. But you may wonder, "What kind of sins are there?" Actually, there are many kinds of sins. A few lists of them may be found in Romans 1:29-32, 1 Corinthians 5:11 and 6:9-10, Galatians 5:19-21, Ephesians 4:26-32, 2 Timothy 3:1-5, and Revelation 21:8. THE PROBLEM OF SIN

5/9/20153 Below are some categories of sins. There are sins of the flesh. These refer to unlawful ways of satisfying fleshly desires. Included are sexual immorality (having a sexual relationship with someone not your wife or husband), adultery, homosexuality, drunkenness, revelling etc.

5/9/20154 God wants His people to be holy and pure. “But as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written: "Be holy, for I am holy“ (1 Peter 1:15-16). Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul (1 Peter 2:11).

5/9/20155 There are sins of attitude, such as pride, envy, jealousy, covetousness, anger, hatred, malice, being unthankful or unforgiving, etc. Some of these are expressed by the tongue, which we are warned to control. THE PROBLEM OF SIN

5/9/20156 “Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” (2 Corinthians 7:1). Not only must we NOT do the things that are wrong; we must also do the things that are right and good.

5/9/20158 "THE WAGES OF SIN IS..." When we choose to sin, what happens? We lose our fellowship with God. Adam and Eve, in the very beginning of man's existence, lost that special relationship with God when they sinned (Genesis 3). THE PROBLEM OF SIN

5/9/20159 The Old Testament prophet Isaiah told Israel how serious their sins were. “Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear” (Isaiah 59:1-2).

5/9/ Since God is holy, He can not approve of nor fellowship sin. In fact, He must punish sin. "The wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23). What will happen to us if we are guilty of sin when we die? We will be lost. SEPARATED FROM GOD FOR ALL ETERNITY

5/9/ There is a day coming when the Lord Jesus shall be: “.. revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power...” (2 Thessalonians 1:7-9).

5/9/ Can a man get back to God by a) Trying his best to lead a good life? b) Going to Church? c) Being sincere? d) Being washed in the blood of Christ? THE PROBLEM OF SIN

5/9/ THE BLOOD OF CHRIST IS VALUABLE IN OUR DAILY LIFE. a) Romans 6:3; We are baptised into His death b) Therefore in baptism we contact the blood and are forgiven. c) 1 John 1:7 It cleanses the faithful from daily sin -not just a one time act.

5/9/ An understanding of the true nature of sin will:- 1) Cause us to abhor it Romans 12:9 2) Cause us to seek to eradicate it from our life Isaiah 1: ) Cause us to really appreciate the gift of Christ 2 Corinthians 9:15

5/9/ Because of sin, man is cut off from God. If man continues in this state of sin, this separation will be total and final and hell will be theirs for eternity. Man is helpless to do anything about sin. He has not the power or ability to make the necessary bridge back to God. Man desperately needs help. THE PROBLEM OF SIN

5/9/ THE PURPOSE What was Gods purpose Romans 5:6-9 “When we were utterly helpless with no way of escape, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners who had no use for him. Even if we were good, we really wouldn't expect anyone to die for us, though, of course, that might be barely possible. Since Christ's blood has made us right with God, even more we will be saved from God's punishment through Christ”. THE PROBLEM OF SIN

5/9/ Luke 19:9 Jesus told him, ``This shows that salvation has come to this home today. This man was one of the lost sons of Abraham, and I, the Messiah, have come to search for and to save such souls as his.''

5/9/ Matthew 1:21 "She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins."

5/9/ John 10:10+11 “The thief's purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give life in all its fullness. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His own life for the sheep.”

5/9/ THE PURPOSE What was God's purpose Hebrews 9:28 so also Christ died only once as an offering for the sins of many people; and he will come again, but not to deal again with our sins. This time He will come bringing salvation to all those who are eagerly and patiently waiting for Him. THE PROBLEM OF SIN
