The greatest deception men suffer is from their own opinions.

And Elijah came to all the people, and said, “How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” And Elijah came to all the people, and said, “How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” 1Kings 18:21

For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: Philippians 3:18-19

whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame— who set their mind on earthly things. Philippians 3:18-19

The wicked is banished in his wickedness, But the righteous has a refuge in his death. The wicked is banished in his wickedness, But the righteous has a refuge in his death. Proverbs 14:32

Covetous Balaam Balaam was a prophet...God spoke thru

...Balak...was king of the Moabites at that time. Then he sent messengers to Balaam... Numbers 22:4-5

Therefore please come at once, curse this people for me...for I know that he whom you bless is blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed.” Numbers 22:6

Then Balaam answered and said to the servants of Balak, “Though Balak were to give me his house full of silver and gold, I could not go beyond the word of the Lord my God, to do less or more. Numbers 22:18

Covetous Balaam Balaam was a prophet...God spoke thru Had a heart trained in covetous practices Forsaken the right way and gone astray Loved the wages of unrighteousness God tried to restrain thru a donkey

Then God’s anger was aroused because he went, and the Angel of the Lord took His stand in the way as an adversary against him. And he was riding on his donkey, and his two servants were with him. Numbers 22:22

Now the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord standing in the way with His drawn sword in His hand, and the donkey turned aside out of the way and went into the field. Numbers 22:23

So Balaam struck the donkey to turn her back onto the road. Numbers 22:23

Then the Angel of the Lord stood in a narrow path between the vineyards, with a wall on this side and a wall on that side. Numbers 22:24

And when the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord, she pushed herself against the wall and crushed Balaam’s foot against the wall; so he struck her again. Numbers 22:25

Then the Angel of the Lord went further, and stood in a narrow place where there was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left. Numbers 22:26

And when the donkey saw the Angel of the Lord, she lay down under Balaam; so Balaam’s anger was aroused, and he struck the donkey with his staff. Numbers 22:27

Then the Lord opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, “What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?” Numbers 22:28

And Balaam said to the donkey, “Because you have abused me. I wish there were a sword in my hand, for now I would kill you!” Numbers 22:29

So the donkey said to Balaam, “Am I not your donkey on which you have ridden, ever since I became yours, to this day? Was I ever disposed to do this to you?” And he said, “No.” Numbers 22:30

Then the Lord opened Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the Angel of the Lord standing in the way with His drawn sword in His hand; and he bowed his head and fell flat on his face. Numbers 22:31

And the Angel of the Lord said to him, “Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out to stand against you, because your way is perverse before Me. Numbers 22:32

Covetous Balaam Balaam was a prophet...God spoke thru Had a heart trained in covetous practices Forsaken the right way and gone astray Loved the wages of unrighteousness God tried to restrain thru a donkey But Balaam served his covetousness

But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, Revelation 2:14

who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality. Revelation 2:14

For what if some did not believe? Will their unbelief make the faithfulness of God without effect? Romans 3:3

Certainly not! Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar. Romans 3:4
