Additional Insurance / Coverage Cargo coverage in excess of $100,000 may be provided by:  (Preferred) Purchasing High Value Trip Transit Insurance (HVTT) through the IOA website for the full value of the cargo ONLINE  A contract and/or transportation agreement is in place providing excess coverage  Complete a Risk Assessment form. The Risk Assessment must be approved by Landstar and approvals will be communicated to you in writing.  Waiver of Cargo Liability, when customer provides cargo insurance. This MUST be signed by your customer and approved by Landstar before the load is dispatched  Broker carrier must have cargo coverage equal to the cargo value

Domestic Trip Transit Insurance (HVTT)  Insurance can be purchased for any commodity (except those on our no-haul list) valued greater than $100,000, 24 hours a day 7 days a week through a secure website link on Landstar Online.  Exceptions  When using a broker carrier and shipment is $500,000 or greater, a release number must be obtained from Cargo Loss Prevention before submitting the HVTT application. Bond Requests  Shippers may require proof that we are properly bonded to carry freight or for customs purposes  Any requests or requirements regarding bonds should be directed to the Insurance Administration department Phone

LSO Dispatch Responsibilities  Dispatch to Complete and Accurate Dispatch Checklist  Abide by High Risk Cargo (HRC) procedures when dispatching freight deemed as HRC  Advise BCO or broker carrier in advance if cargo is prone to shifting, falling or any special securement requirements  Know your customer: what’s the commodity and it’s value on every load!  Report cargo theft immediately! Every minute helps in the recovery effort  Coordinate pickup and delivery to eliminate unnecessary layover  Monitor check calls  Share online security theft information with your customers

Things to remember when using a Broker Carrier  Cargo $500,000 or greater No cargo valued of $500,000 may be brokered without getting advance permission unless the carrier has cargo insurance equal to or greater than the value of the freight.  Verify broker carrier information to avoid being SCAMMED by cargo thieves. Don’t assume you’re talking to the carrier. Check all their information against the AS400 Don’t accept ICC or MC#, get FID #’s? Have them give you their information – verify what they say Phone and Fax numbers must match what is in the AS400? Notify Landstar Security of any potential scams
